At the age of 15 I was playing in Reverend Gherkin, my school rock band. At
this time I won local talent contests, and was gigging up and down the country
almost straight away. At one gig I introduced myself to Diana Dors and Alan
Bates!
I went off to Butlins at Minehead and then went on to touring British Army
Bases in West Germany. On return from Germany I split from ‘The Gerkins’ and
joined Swindon Combo ‘The Singles’, and went straight back to Germany this time
touring USAF Bases for months at a time.

When back in the U.K. I played venues such as …… Bristol Colston Hall,
Birmingham Odeon, Swindon Wyvern, Bath Theatre Royal, Brighton Dome, Margate and
Bournmouth Winter Gardens, Southend Cliffs Pavillion, Guildford Civil Hall etc
etc. This was supporting Showaddywaddy and Chas&Dave. Throughout this time we
also fitted in a few months working the Geordie club land through Beverley’s
Entertainments. Soon after this ‘The Singles’ split, but not before releasing a
single which managed to get played on radio 2! But sadly only once!!
Went Solo!!!!
Worked pubs and clubs anywhere and everywhere whilst building my new act. I
was the U.K’s most worked solo artist in 1995. (366 gigs).
Retired in 1996 (whilst at the Top! Ha Ha), and ran 5 pubs for Scottish &
Newcastle Retail, up until mid 2004. At this time I returned to the music scene,
and went professional once again. This time adding a new act to work in
conjunction with my solo act Michael Ian Brown.
This new act became The Wedding & Party Singer and Disco.
